Partnering with Kris and Aubree Kuriger in international church planting, the team will engage the second largest city in the United Kingdom by learning and practicing urban ministry alongside local believers in North Manchester. The team will spend time in seminars, practicing entry/evangelism methods, and spending time with local ministry leaders.
Did You Know?
With the accidental discovery of a Roman relic beneath the Beetham Tower, it was confirmed that Christians were almost certainly present in Roman Manchester around 180 AD, long before Rome became Christian.
Christianity is the largest religion, but the UK is becoming increasingly diverse with significant populations identifying with other faiths, such as Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism, Judaism, and Buddhism. In the 2021 census, 46.2% of the population in England and Wales identified as Christian, while 37.2% identified as having no religion. Slightly under half of Greater Manchester residents described themselves as Christian according to the 2021 census (47.8% compared with 46.2% in England).
Manchester is known as the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, the first industrial city, and the first city with a stored-program computer. Manchester has more miles of canals than Venice, a remnant of its industrial past.
