Staff Position Title: Campus A/V Tech & Training Coordinator
Principal Function:
The Campus A/V Tech & Training Coordinator plays a dual role in both technical
operations and volunteer development across extended campuses of Church at The
Mill. This position is responsible for managing and maintaining audio, video and lighting
systems at assigned campuses, while also creating and implementing training programs
for volunteer teams who serve in the Technical Arts ministry in close cooperation with
the Technical Arts Director. The goal of this role is to ensure technical excellence,
consistency, and strong volunteer engagement that supports the mission of Church at
The Mill.
Reports To: Technical Arts Director
Location: Church at The Mill - Lake Cooley, Woodruff, and Espanol Campuses
Weekly Hours: Full-Time (40 hours)
Responsibilities:
Technical Operations
-Manage and maintain all A/V systems, equipment, and lighting fixtures at
assigned campuses
-Provide technical support and serve in A/V positions during worship services and
events as needed (Front of House, ProPresenter, Lighting, etc.)
-Oversee equipment organization, setup, signal flow, troubleshooting, and repairs
at assigned campuses.
-Assist with Central Campus Category 1/2/3 events and rotate as needed to
operate tech positions.
-Support campus-specific needs and events in coordination with campus staff.
-Attend Tech Staff Meetings (Mondays) and Central Campus All Staff Meetings
(Tuesdays).
Training & Development
-Create and implement a structured training program for all volunteer technical
roles, including:
-Front of House Audio
-ProPresenter
-Lighting
-ProVideo Player
-Camera Operation
-Camera Shading
-PTZ Camera Operation
-Video Directing
-Lower Third Lyrics
-Develop training resources (manuals, guides, workshops) and provide ongoing
coaching and evaluations.
-Standardize processes across campuses for consistent technical excellence in
worship production.
Volunteer Engagement
-In cooperation with the Technical Arts Director - Recruit, schedule, and develop
volunteers for A/V ministry positions.
-Foster a culture of teamwork, excellence, and servant leadership within volunteer
teams
-Provide encouragement, accountability, and ongoing communication with
volunteers
-Maintain an up-to-date long-term schedule to ensure positions are consistently
filled
Collaboration & Support
-Work closely with Campus Pastors, Worship Leaders, and other ministry leaders
to ensure technical needs are met
-Serve as a point of contact for volunteers with training needs, scheduling
conflicts, or technical challenges
Qualifications
-Five years of live audio mixing/support in large venues (church setting preferred).
-Proficiency in Audio Engineering, Signal Flow, and live production environments
-Experience with Allen & Health consoles preferred
-Knowledge of electricity, audio physics, audio networking, lighting (programming,
patching, DMX protocols) and video signal flow.
-Demonstrated ability to train, coach, and develop volunteers or technical teams
-Strong organizational, scheduling, and communication skills
-Proficiency in ProPresenter, ProVideo Player, and Macintosh computer platform
-Ability to work both independently and collaboratively under pressure and tight
deadlines
-Alignment with the mission, vision and values of Church at The Mill
Expectations
-Serve during Sunday mornings, some Sunday evenings, and Wednesday nights
-Regular attendance at worship services and ministry events across campuses as
needed
-Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in support of worship
services and special events
-Commitment to personal spiritual growth and modeling servant leadership
