STUDENT COVENANT MEMBERSHIP
WHAT IS COVENANT MEMBERSHIP?
We at Church at The Mill believe that covenant membership is both Biblical and necessary for a person to effectively grow in their walk with the Lord. This process provides a strong measure of discipleship and Church discipline for the individual and the body of Christ. The student membership process will allow a student in the 9th grade to learn what it means to be a covenant member and why covenant membership is essential for his or her growth.
WHAT IS THE PROCESS?
- The student will fill out a church membership application during the month of January.
- The student will meet with the high school pastor to discuss the student’s current walk with Jesus and whether or not he or she has been baptized.
- The student will then attend one special new member’s class geared to students where they will learn the importance of Covenant membership as well as the expectations as a covenant member at Church at The Mill. One class will be offered in February and one will be offered in March. The student only has to attend one of those dates. The dates are February 23rd from 3 pm to 5 pm and March 22nd from 3 pm to 5 pm.
If a student is unable to take part in this process as a 9th grader, he or she will be able to still join in covenant membership within the same process as the adult body within our church.
