God is on the Move

The real stories at Church at The Mill aren't just the ones that happen on Sunday mornings on stage. God is on the move in the lives of our church members every day of the week in Spartanburg and all around the world. Continue below to see how Jesus changes everything.

In their own words...

We're blessed to be a part of what God is doing in Spartanburg and to the ends of the earth. Read below to see how God is working in the lives of our church family. These testimonials reach across each of the ministries at Church at The Mill. If you're looking for inspiration or a place to get connected, you're in the right place!

This was completely out of my comfort zone as I have always struggled sharing my faith. I always felt I was never knowledgeable enough of the bible and as advanced in my faith to be able to share, but after this trip I learned that is just Satan trying to hold me back.

I sort of felt defeated that I didn't have the courage to share my testimony while evangelizing, and I only prayed at the end before we left the homes, which I now realize is just as important with sharing the gospel. It was so touching that when we asked how we could pray for them they wanted to pray for us and thank us for coming to share the gospel with them!

I have served through music in the church since a child and have been grateful for all the opportunities God has given me to minister, teach, and lead voluntarily and vocationally. This new season of life since moving to SC and being led to CATM has been one of rich blessing.

God has provided me a music ministry that is one I have always been searching for, one that is authentic both musically and emotionally. I am grateful that I have been given a renewed and deeper desire to worship my Lord through music as well as a stronger commitment to walk with him daily. I have gained a sweet and meaningful assurance that God is using me here for his glory! I am so thankful to be a part of this amazing ministry.

I found out about All-Access Ministry through a friend of my sisters. We had just moved to the area and were looking for a church that could accommodate us and our son Joseph’s special needs.

All-Access Ministry has grown me spiritually as a parent in a number of ways.  It has allowed me to be present in service without having to worry about Joseph and whether his needs are too much for his teachers.  It also has created a spiritual support group of parents that also have kids with special needs. We get together periodically to talk, pray, eat, and just share the ups and downs of special needs parenting. I never had that support before we moved here, and it has been such a blessing.

The All-Access Ministry has been wonderful for Joseph.  He is now a part of his own elementary-age class on Sunday mornings that meets him where he is. They continually teach the gospel in ways that he may be able to understand and retain. We are so thankful for Laura and all the All-Access volunteers that commit so much time and effort to our kids.

I have always been very passionate about Small Groups. To me it is one of the most important parts of being a member of a church. This is people you do life with, they are family. There is not one person in our group that I couldn’t call at 3:00 am if I needed someone. If you ask them to pray for a specific need you know you’re prayed over. I’m especially proud of how our Small Group comes together to give and serve.

Our group serves together, we laugh and cry together, we play and have fun together and we share Jesus together because as I said we are family and that’s what families do.

ACBC training has shown me how God uses His Word to change me and grow me. It's beautiful to see eyes open to the truth of God's word and how it's applied. Many people who know I’m a Biblical counselor now ask me questions about their own personal lives. It’s an honor to serve my God in counseling.

I've seen in counseling God's Word applied specifically in others lives. It's beautiful to see when the light bulb goes off and they see and understand how God is speaking directly to them. The training received prepares us to know what skills can be used to open the eyes of others and to be sensitive to what God is wanting to say through us.

I went out on a limb last year and went to Najjanankumbi (my first mission trip ever) and completely fell in love with the community and culture. I couldn’t wait to be able to go back and see how the Lord had worked from the previous year. Going to a Third World country and seeing the way they live day-to-day, makes me more thankful for the small things back home.

When I go to Uganda, I always feel like it renews my spirit with the amount of love and thankfulness that the village shows us. Not only to serve them but also to share the gospel with them, they light up and seem like they cannot get enough. It inspires me to share Jesus more here and across the world.

Singing in the choir has increase the depth of my love for my Lord , because these worship songs proclaim the attributes of my God and encourages me to carry on in victory in the challenging world we live.

I wanted to join a small group to connect with other women who were interested in digging deeper into God‘s word. as a result, God has blessed me with many new friendships I would not have made otherwise. together we have experienced growth as we all growing closer to God and closer to each other.

I love how God uses our stories to help each other in our journey through this life. He so perfectly orchestrates events and places people in our lives which continues to show me His love, power and mercies and gives Him glory!

Our class is so close that we can share tough circumstances in our lives, circumstances you would rather no one know, circumstances that are not resolved in a week, a month, or even years. But we share because it makes our burden lighter, and we all keep praying, and trusting God to “work all things for good,” because we love Him and we are doing our best to be called according to His purposes.

Because of our small group, we become more Christlike. It is our mission to study God’s Word and follow its teaching.

Because of my ACBC training and the Holy Spirit, I've been able to communicate much clearer to my family, and friends. I can speak hard truths to them with love and God's Word. In times of conflict or when confided about their personal sin, I'm able to understand and explain the truth of God's Word in ways I never could before.

Because of ACBC’s Biblical training, I'm equipped with the knowledge of how to show others through scripture, that God is able to fix anything that’s broken.
