In Paul's letter to the church in Corinth, he talked about the Church as a local "body" of believers. A body with different parts and roles, but one united body. Here at Church at The Mill, we invite people who feel led to join us in covenant membership to be a part of our body.
HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER
Filling out an application kick starts the membership journey in two ways. First, it lets us know that you are serious about joining our fellowship. Membership matters at Church at The Mill, and taking time to fill out an application communicates to us that it matters to you. Second, the information provided is irreplaceable when it comes to developing a real-life connection between you and your new church family. This must be completed by every member of the family 9th grade or older.
MEET WITH A PASTOR
Every person desiring membership at Church at The Mill is asked to sit down with one of our ministers for a confidential, yet relaxed time of fellowship, discussion, and prayer. We believe in fulfilling our role as a church by taking time to find out how we can truly help you in your journey to follow Christ. During this time, one of our pastors will cover everything from basic information to the essentials for a right relationship with Christ. After this meeting, if you and the pastor are comfortable moving forward in the membership process, you will be invited to attend our new member’s class.
This class is designed for our pastor to cover the vision of our church along with the vital role that every member can and should play.
The new member’s class is offered on select Sunday afternoons throughout the year from 3-6pm with meal to follow. As always, childcare is provided and older children are welcome to join in on the class.
At the conclusion of the class you will be given a tour of our facility by our pastoral staff. Each staff member takes this opportunity to briefly explain how their ministry functions and the ways in which you can plug in. Each participant is then given a membership covenant that they are asked to sign as an outward symbol of their inward commitment to the Mill. Finally, the evening ends with a delicious meal for your entire family to enjoy with our ministers.
The fourth and final step is a public introduction and affirmation before our church family. New members who have completed steps 1-3 and signed and turned in their covenant are asked to join the pastor at the end of any of our Sunday morning services so he can briefly introduce and welcome them into our faith family.
